Junior Interior Designer

SF Bay Area

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in residential design, including build, renovation, and furnishing projects. 

  • Candidates with a related degree in interior design or a similar field, but without direct experience, will also be considered.

Skills:​

  • Capable of performing site measurements and creating floor plans

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Google Drive, AutoCAD/SketchUp, Houzz Pro, Asana, and Canva is a plus.

  • Experience in sourcing FF&E from both retail and trade vendors

  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Process-driven, detail-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, and collaborative.

  • Passionate about design!

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Work from home with the expectation to attend in-person meetings as required, including consultations, site visits, showrooms, our San Francisco office, and sample pick-ups/drop-offs.

  • Must have a car and a valid driver’s license.

  • Reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and available during business hours (M-F, 9am-5pm).

  • Occasional travel may be requested for out-of-area projects and trade shows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring all phases of the design process stay on schedule and within scope

  • Collaborate in all phases of design from concept through installation, working directly with the clients and design team.

  • Participate in and support construction management.

  • Assist in sourcing furnishings, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes that align with client needs and project budgets.

  • Order/coordinate samples, assist with gathering quotes, prepare presentations, and present designs to clients and trades.

  • Prepare & maintain supporting documents such as finish schedules, client files, spec books, furnishing budgets, and drawings

  • Participate in weekly design/project reviews with the design team.

  • Assist with the procurement process, including proposals, invoices, order tracking, close collaboration with vendors and receiving warehouse, and implementation.

  • Attend meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors as needed; and relay recap with relevant information to the design team

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, design showrooms, and vendors.

Rate: $30-40/hour

Hours: 10-15 hours/week (with potential to increase)
